Addons
Install, enable and configure addons that add features to Paybob.
Addons add features to Paybob without changing Paybob itself: new pages, settings, emails, integrations. They're managed in System Settings → Addons.
Paybob includes the SMTP - Pro addon, which sends email through your own mail service. See Set up email.
The addon list
Each addon shows its Name, Version, Author, Scope and Status. From a row's menu:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable / Disable | Switch the addon on or off. |
| Settings | Open the addon's settings, if it has any. |
| View Details | The addon's ID, version, author, description, where it appears in the panel, and any problem with it. |
| Remove | Delete the addon's files. |
Select several addons to enable or disable them together.
Global and per-Brand addons
| Scope | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Global | Enabled for every Brand or none, with one set of settings. |
| Per brand | Each Brand enables it and configures it separately. Enable and Disable act on the Brand you're in. |
SMTP - Pro is per brand, so each Brand can send email from its own address and mail service.
Installing an addon
Upload it
Click Upload Addon and choose the addon's ZIP file.
Check and confirm
Paybob checks the package before installing anything: that it's built correctly, that it works with your Paybob and PHP versions, and that any addons it depends on are installed and enabled. It then shows the addon's Name, Addon ID, Version, Author and Description. Confirm to install.
Enable it
New addons are installed disabled. Click Enable when you're ready. If the addon has settings, a card appears for it in System Settings.
Only install addons you trust
An addon runs its own code on your server, with full access to your data. Only install addons from developers you trust.
Updating an addon
Upload the newer version's ZIP the same way. Paybob shows the Current Version and the New Version before you confirm, backs up the current files, and restores them if the update fails. Your settings are kept. Uploading the same or an older version is refused.
Disable or remove
- Disable stops the addon straight away: its pages, menus and background actions disappear. Its files, settings and data are kept, so enabling it again brings everything back.
- Remove disables the addon in every Brand and deletes its files. Data the addon stored in its own database tables isn't deleted.
Broken addons
If an addon's files are damaged or missing, its status shows Broken or Files missing, with the reason in View Details. A broken addon can't be enabled. If an addon ever crashes Paybob, Paybob switches it off automatically on the next request so the rest of the panel keeps working. Upload a fixed version to bring it back.
Addon permissions
Addons can bring their own permissions, which you give to roles on the Addons tab of Role Management. New permissions from an update aren't given to any role automatically.
Permissions for this page
Viewing addons, installing, updating (including enable, disable and settings) and removing each have their own permission. See Staff and roles.
To build your own addon, see Addon development.
