Installation
Uninstalling
Stop Paybob, remove its images, or delete the installation and its data.
The uninstall script has three levels: stop Paybob and keep everything, also remove its images, or delete the installation completely. Docker itself is never removed.
Stop Paybob and keep your data
sudo bash /opt/paybob/uninstall.shThis stops and removes Paybob's containers. Your database, uploads, packages, settings and backups all stay in /opt/paybob. To start Paybob again later:
cd /opt/paybob && docker compose up -dAlso remove the images
sudo bash /opt/paybob/uninstall.sh --remove-imagesRemoves Paybob's Docker images as well, to free disk space. Your data is still kept. Starting again downloads the images.
Delete everything
sudo bash /opt/paybob/uninstall.sh --purgeThis can't be undone
--purge deletes everything in /opt/paybob: the bundled database, uploads, installed packages, settings, secrets and the upgrade backups.
Before deleting anything, it:
- offers to take a final backup to
/root/paybob-final-backup-<date>; - asks you to type the installation's domain, such as
pay.example.com, to confirm.
If you use your own database server, Paybob never touches it: drop the database yourself if you no longer need it. A copy of the uninstall log is kept in /root.
Combine --purge with --remove-images to remove the images too.

For scripts, answer the prompts with options:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
--confirm-domain DOMAIN | With --purge: the installation's domain, as confirmation. |
--final-backup yes|no | With --purge: take the final backup or not. |
--yes | Accept the other prompts. |
sudo bash /opt/paybob/uninstall.sh --purge --final-backup yes --confirm-domain pay.example.comBefore you uninstall
- Release your license so you can use it on another server: System Settings → License → Clear License. See Move to another server.
- Keep the final backup if you may need your payment records later. Many businesses must keep them for years.
- Tell your integrations: websites, apps and gateway providers sending callbacks to this installation will stop working.
