Brands

Run several businesses from one installation, each with its own data, settings and domain.

A Brand is one business inside your installation. With several Brands you can run separate stores or companies from one Paybob, each with its own customers, gateways and look, while sharing one server, one license and one team.

What belongs to a Brand

Pages that apply to the whole installation are marked Installation-wide under their title.

Customer-facing addresses

Each Brand has a slug, a short name used in its public addresses:

Text
https://pay.example.com/your-brand/invoice/INV-7KX2M9QD4A
https://pay.example.com/your-brand/paymentlink/pl_x8Kq2mWz9aVb

A Brand can also serve these pages from its own domain, such as pay.yourbrand.com. See Custom domain.

Managing Brands

Open System Settings → Brands. Only administrators can see this page.

Create a Brand

Click New Brand and enter its Brand Name and Slug. The slug is filled in from the name; change it if you want. It can't be one of Paybob's own reserved words, and must be unique.

Choose the slug carefully

The slug can't be changed after the Brand is created. It's in every link you send customers and in the callback addresses registered with your payment providers, and there's no redirect from an old slug.

A new Brand starts empty: no gateways, API keys, customers, roles or staff. Switch to it with the Brand menu at the top of the sidebar, then set it up:

  1. Fill in its General settings, including its default currency.
  2. Add gateways.
  3. Add staff and create its roles.
  4. Choose and customize a theme.

Rename a Brand

Rename changes the name only. The slug stays the same.

Suspend and activate

Suspend switches a Brand off without deleting anything:

  • its admin pages and public pages (checkout, invoices, payment links) return "not found";
  • its API keys are refused;
  • gateway callbacks for it are refused too, so make sure no payments are still in progress before you suspend;
  • SMS matching and webhook delivery keep running, so payments already marked Pending can still complete.

Activate brings everything back. You can't suspend the Brand you're currently working in, or the last active Brand.

Delete a Brand

Deleting is permanent, so it has strict rules. A Brand can only be deleted when:

  • it's suspended first;
  • it has no transactions, invoices or customers: financial history is never deleted;
  • you type its slug to confirm.

Deleting removes the Brand's configuration: gateways, API keys, payment links, Checkout Menus, FAQs, roles, settings and staff memberships. Staff accounts themselves are kept, and so are uploaded logos.

For a Brand with history, suspend it instead.

Staff and Brands

A staff account can work in several Brands, with a different role in each. Staff only see the Brands they're members of. Administrators see every Brand. See Staff and roles.
