Themes
Choose and customise the look of your checkout, invoice and payment-link pages.
A theme controls how your customer-facing pages look. Each Brand chooses its own theme and colours. A theme styles four pages:
- the checkout page, where the customer picks how to pay;
- the invoice page;
- the payment link page;
- the default payment link page, where the customer enters an amount.
Gateways' own payment pages, such as a wallet's "send money to this number" screen, are styled by the gateway package itself.
Choosing a theme
Themes shows every installed theme as a card with a preview. Click Activate on the one you want. The active theme is used straight away for the current Brand.
Paybob includes the Default theme. If the active theme is missing or broken, Paybob falls back to the default theme automatically, and the Themes page warns you.
Customizing the active theme
Click Customize on the active theme. The settings depend on the theme. The default theme has:
| Section | Settings |
|---|---|
| Content | Show FAQ section: show your FAQs in a Support/FAQ drawer on checkout pages. |
| Checkout | Primary color, Sidebar background and Sidebar text color for the checkout page. |
| Payment Link | The same three colours for payment-link pages. |
| Invoice | Primary color for the invoice page. |
Click Save Changes. Each theme keeps its own settings, so switching themes and back doesn't lose them.
Not seeing your new colours?
Your browser may keep a cached copy of the theme's styles. Reload the page with Ctrl+Shift+R (or Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac).
What the default theme includes
- Your logo, business name and favicon from General settings.
- Your Google Tag Manager container and SEO settings, if you've set them.
- A language menu with English, Bangla, Hindi and Urdu. The customer's choice carries over to gateway pages.
- A Back link to your website on the checkout page, when the payment has a return address.
- A Download PDF button on invoices.
- Your support contacts and FAQs in a Support drawer.
Checkout Menus
By default, checkout shows all available gateways together. Checkout Menus group them into collapsible sections, such as Cards, Mobile wallets and Bank transfer.
Open Checkout Menus
On the Themes page, click Checkout Menu.
Add a menu
Click Add New, give the menu a title and an icon, and save.
Add gateways to it
Click Manage gateways on the menu and add gateways in the order you want them shown. Only active gateways can be added.
Order the menus
Use Move up and Move down to set the order of the menus.
On the default theme, the first menu starts open and the others collapsed; opening one closes the rest. A gateway that isn't available for a particular payment (outside its limits or schedule, for example) is left out of its menu for that payment. Deleting a menu doesn't delete its gateways.
Checkout Menus belong to the Brand, so they work with any theme that supports them.
Installing another theme
Administrators can install a theme from a ZIP file with Upload Theme. The ZIP must contain one folder named after the theme. A new theme is never activated automatically: activate it when you're ready.
Only install themes you trust
Themes run their own code on your server. Only upload themes from developers you trust.
To build your own, see Theme development.
Permissions
Viewing themes, activating a theme and customizing it (including Checkout Menus) each have their own permission. Only administrators can upload themes. See Staff and roles.
