Paybob

Installation

First-run setup

Create the first admin account and Brand with the one-time setup link.

A new installation has no accounts yet. The one-time setup link the installer printed creates the first administrator and the first Brand.

Create your admin account and Brand

Open the link from the end of the installer's output in your browser. It looks like https://pay.example.com/setup?token=…. The page is titled Set up Paybob.

Fill in the administrator

FieldWhat to enter
NameYour name.
EmailThe email address you'll sign in with.
PasswordAt least 8 characters. You can add two-factor login and passkeys from your profile afterwards.

This first account is an administrator: it can see and change everything, in every Brand. You'll add staff accounts with limited permissions later. See Staff and roles.

Fill in your first Brand

FieldWhat to enter
Brand nameYour business name, shown to customers. Logo, email and gateways are set up in the panel afterwards.
Default currencyThe currency your reports and dashboard use, and the default for new invoices and payment links.
TimezoneThe timezone dates and times are shown in.

Create

Click Create admin and Brand. You're taken to the sign-in page. Sign in with the email and password you just chose.

  • It works once. After the first admin is created, /setup no longer exists.
  • It expires after 24 hours.
  • It's only shown once, in the installer's output. Paybob stores a fingerprint of it, never the link itself.

As long as no administrator exists yet, you can create a new link on the server. The old link stops working.

Terminal
cd /opt/paybob && docker compose exec app artisan paybob:setup-link

If the page says the link is invalid or has expired, run the same command.
